Design a cafe chair painted in black with using ash wood(24x24mm or 24x8mm). I approached the design in a graphical way to emphazise “black”. Mondrian paintings gave inspiration to develp the task.
Jogakbo is Korean traditional patchwork design.It was a household item created to attach leftover cloth to make a one-big-half-recycled cloth. Even the smallest pieces of leftover cloth after making clothes and accessories would be gathered up and hand sewed together.
SHARK is a bench that is inspired by shark's body shape. This bench is optional furniture that can be used in different ways.
Corset is a flat-pack stool. The construction of the stool is inspired by 19th century corsets, using tension to bind the structure. This feminine form can be untied and easily stored. Starting with the 19th century corset, I was inspired by chairs that similarlly combined panels with cord. Preliminary sketches allowed me to explore connections and joints.
Moon is a bike hanger and storage system for students living in dormitories. The form is inspired by lunar craters and phases of the moon.The form of this cubby holes furniture is based on the shape of the luner craters. The shape of rounded holes coincident with bike wheels and pedals. The multiple sized circles give options to users to store various objects in the holes.
Square is a lounge chair and the first furniture I designed and made. The form of the chair is inspired by Scandinavian culture from study abroad. The structure is combined with a book shelf and chair for booklovers.
